State Chamber Orchestra “Virtuosi of Moscow” — The Four Seasons

On December 10, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory will host a concert by one of Russia’s most renowned ensembles — the State Chamber Orchestra “Virtuosi of Moscow”, led by Artistic Director Vladimir Spivakov.

The programme will feature The Four Seasons by two composers: Antonio Vivaldi and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. These celebrated masterpieces, long regarded as part of the golden treasury of classical music, will be performed in an exceptional interpretation.

The Virtuosi of Moscow are the only Russian orchestra to have released recordings under the renowned BMG Classics and RCA Red Seal labels. The ensemble’s discography includes not only works from the classical repertoire, but also compositions by contemporary composers.

Today, there are virtually no unexplored territories within the global cultural landscape for these musicians. The orchestra’s concerts have been met with acclaim across Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico, South American countries, Israel, China, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, and many other parts of the world. The Virtuosi of Moscow’s touring geography also encompasses all regions of Russia and the post-Soviet space.

Since the orchestra was founded, its permanent Artistic Director and Principal Conductor has been the distinguished violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov. It is largely thanks to Maestro Spivakov and his many years of dedicated work with the ensemble that the Virtuosi of Moscow have earned a place among the world’s finest chamber orchestras.

At every performance, the Virtuosi of Moscow achieve what matters most: they have the ability to move audiences emotionally and engage them intellectually, regardless of their level of musical experience. The orchestra gives listeners the joy of encountering great musical masterpieces and inspires them to return to the concert hall again and again.

Alexey Lundin

Alexey Lundin is a violinist, concertmaster, and soloist of the State Chamber Orchestra “Virtuosi of Moscow.” A winner of numerous international competitions, Lundin collaborates with many of the most celebrated musicians of our time.

In 1998, he became the first violinist of the Mozart Quartet, which went on to establish a leading position in Russia’s musical life and received First Prize at the 6th International Dmitri Shostakovich String Quartet Competition in 2001.

Lundin is also the founder and Artistic Director of the International Classical Music Festival in Salacgrīva, Latvia, as well as the Valentin Berlinsky Forever! International Music Festival, dedicated to the distinguished cellist and founder of the Borodin Quartet in Moscow.
