Solo Concert by Hibla Gerzmava

On July 2, marking the end of the 2025–2026 concert season, world-renowned opera star and People’s Artist of Russia Hibla Gerzmava will take the stage at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The acclaimed opera diva will once again captivate audiences with her distinctive timbre, impeccable technique, outstanding acting and meticulous attention to every character she portrays.

The concert will also feature winners of the 2nd International Hibla Gerzmava Competition for Vocalists and Concertmasters (2025): Yevgeny Bovykin (baritone), Samira Galimova (soprano) and Elen Yegiazaryan (soprano). Accompanied by the Russian Music Academy Orchestra, the renowned opera singers will perform arias and romances by Russian and international composers. The evening will be conducted by one of Russia’s most sought-after conductors, Ivan Nikiforchin.

Hibla Gerzmava is a true prima donna of the opera stage — a vibrant and stylish singer equally compelling in classical arias, jazz improvisations and old romances. The celebrated soprano is known for her uncompromising approach to every aspect of her art, from vocal technique and dramaturgy to her stage appearance.

Gerzmava is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards. In 1994, she became the only vocalist in the history of the International Tchaikovsky Competition to win its Grand Prix. Today, Hibla Gerzmava is not only a charismatic opera singer beloved by audiences around the world, but also an Associate Professor of Solo Singing at the Moscow Conservatory, founder and artistic director of the Hibla Gerzmava Invites… Music Festival, President of the Onegin National Opera Award, and founder of the International Competition for Vocalists and Concertmasters.

The concert will be accompanied by the Russian Music Academy Orchestra, one of Russia’s youngest and most dynamically developing orchestras. The ensemble performs with outstanding soloists, with pianists holding a special place among its collaborators, including Yakov Katsnelson, Philipp Kopachevsky, Dmitry Shishkin, Konstantin Yemelyanov, Konstantin Khachikyan, Alexander Klyuchko, Ivan Bessonov, Vladimir Vishnevsky and others.

In a short period of time, the orchestra has achieved remarkable success. Its repertoire, comprising hundreds of works, is truly versatile, spanning the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras through to 20th-century and contemporary music. Since its foundation in 2017, the orchestra has been led by Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Ivan Nikiforchin.

Ivan Nikiforchin is one of the most sought-after and active concert conductors in Russia today. He performs with the country’s leading orchestras, including the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the Bolshoi Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra and others.

Since 2024, he has served as Artistic Director of the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra (MGASO), one of Russia’s leading musical ensembles. Since 2025, he has also been Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Yamal Youth Symphony Orchestra (YMSO). He is the founder, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Russian Music Academy Orchestra.

Nikiforchin won First Prize at the 1st International Rachmaninoff Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors (2022) and received the President of the Russian Federation’s Award for Young Cultural Professionals (2024).

The concert is organized by Moscow Nights, one of Russia’s leading agencies specializing in the arts and classical music. The company organizes performances by leading Russian and international artists, conductors and ensembles at major concert venues in Russia and around the world.
