Rasul Gamzatov Anniversary

On September 27, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory hosted a festive gala concert by the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography, “I Leave My Love as a Legacy…”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet Rasul Gamzatov. The concert featured renowned actors and musicians, including Lev Leshchenko, Polad Bulbuloglu, Yevgeny Knyazev, Alexander Oleshko, Andrey Gusev, Alexey Kizenkov, Anna Buturlina, Vladislav Kosarev, and the A.A. Yurlov State Academic Russian Choral Capella. The concert was conducted by People's Artist of Russia Sergei Skripka.

The celebrated artists performed works based on poems by the People's Poet of Dagestan, including “Take Care of Your Friends,” “Where Is Happiness?” “Flowers Have Eyes,” “Yellow Leaves,” “The Sunny Days Are Gone,” as well as the iconic song “Cranes,” which has touched the hearts of millions across the country and become beloved by generations of listeners.

The great Rasul Gamzatov. His books were published in millions of copies, and his poems were translated into dozens of languages around the world. His creative evenings filled concert halls and stadiums. He collaborated with some of the finest composers of his time, including Alexandra Pakhmutova, Yan Frenkel, Alexey Ekimyan, Raimonds Pauls, and Oscar Feltsman. His poetry was performed by artists who defined an entire era, including Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Galina Vishnevskaya, Muslim Magomaev, Anna German, Iosif Kobzon, Valery Leontiev, Sofia Rotaru, and many others.

His distinctive artistic legacy, combining wisdom and innocence, strength and tenderness, resilience and emotional depth, made Rasul Gamzatov renowned throughout the world. A legendary master of words, distinguished poet, essayist, and translator, he continues to bring together different peoples and generations of our country.
