Masterpieces of Operetta

On January 30, a festive concert dedicated to the golden age of operetta took place in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Performed by the State Kremlin Orchestra, the audience heard beloved melodies by the kings of the genre, Johann Strauss Jr., Imre Kalman, and Franz Lehar. The audience enjoyed the virtuosic and  joyful melodies from «Die Fledermaus», «The Merry Widow», «Sylvia», «The Gypsy Baron» and other famous operettas. Sparkling quadrilles, romantic waltzes and enchanting overtures filled this Friday evening with lightness, lyricism, and an overflowing joy of life. One of the most sought-after Russian conductors Konstantin Chudovsky took the conductor's podium. Soloist — graduate of the Young Opera Program of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Elizaveta Narsiya (soprano), soloist — Maxim Lisiin. 

The concert was accompanied by the State Kremlin Orchestra of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation (artistic director and chief conductor — Konstantin Chudovsky). The orchestra comprises two ensembles: symphonic and wind. A significant place in the orchestra's repertoire is occupied by works of Russian and foreign classics, compositions by contemporary composers, as well as popular music for wind ensembles of a wide variety of genres. The orchestra was founded in 2019 and immediately established itself as one of the country's leading musical ensembles. Its roster includes highly professional musicians with experience in Russia's finest symphony orchestras, as well as young virtuosos, graduates of prestigious musical institutions and laureates of international competitions. In 2024, it became the recipient of the BraVo award in the «Orchestra of the Year» category.

The repertoire of conductor Konstantin Chudovsky includes more than 30 opera and ballet productions, as well as symphonic music. The maestro was invited to the position of artistic director and chief conductor of the State Kremlin Orchestra in 2020. Since 2019 — chief conductor of the Ural Opera (Yekaterinburg), since 2022 – guest conductor of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. Laureate of the «Triumph» youth award (2011)
