Hibla Gerzmava and the Moscow Conservatory Opera Class

On June 25, the legendary stage of the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory welcomed world-renowned opera star and People's Artist of Russia Hibla Gerzmava, together with students and graduates of her class: Veronika Andreichenko, Maria Lupareva, Lada Merkulyeva, Valentina Khimich and Veronika Khorosheva. Accompanied by the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the opera singers performed arias and romances by Russian and Italian composers. The concert also featured Honored Artist of the Republic of Abkhazia and pianist Ekaterina Ganelina. Maestro Arif Dadashev conducted the orchestra.

Hibla is a laureate of numerous awards and, in 1994, became the only vocalist in the history of the Tchaikovsky International Competition to receive the Grand Prix. Today, Hibla Gerzmava is not only a charismatic opera singer beloved around the world; she is also an associate professor of solo singing at the Moscow Conservatory, founder and artistic director of the Hibla Gerzmava Invites… Music Festival, president of the Onegin National Opera Awards, and founder of the International Competition for Vocalists and Accompanists.
