Film Concert “Music from Turkish TV Series” Featuring Burak Özçivit

The renowned Turkish actor and star of such hit series as Magnificent Century, Kara Sevda, and Kuruluş: Osman was the special guest of the film concert Music from Turkish TV Series, presented on September 24, 2024, at the Festivalny Concert Hall in Sochi.

The actor shared his experience of working on television series, told fascinating stories from the making of international blockbusters, and answered some tricky questions from popular television host Ivan Chuikov, well known to Russian audiences for his work on RU.TV, the programmes Hit and Secret to the Whole World on Rossiya TV, as well as Weekend Show on STS and other television projects.

Instantly recognizable music from iconic series was accompanied by a unique video presentation featuring celebrated actors, including Burak Özçivit himself. The audience enjoyed meeting the acclaimed actor and listening to their favorite music performed by a symphony orchestra under the direction of Evgeny Oleynikov.

The renowned Turkish actor and model Burak Özçivit is widely regarded as one of the world’s most charismatic leading men. His journey to international stardom could itself be the plot of a captivating television series.

Once an unknown student at Marmara University in Istanbul, Özçivit became a global superstar within just a few years. His career began in modeling: at the age of 19, encouraged by his father, he entered the Best Model of Turkey competition. Recognized as a promising model, he was invited to join a modeling agency.

Two years later, having gained valuable experience, Burak returned to the competition — and this time won it triumphantly. That same year, he went on to compete in the Best Model of the World contest, once again reaching the podium and taking second place.

Soon, advertising contracts and offers began pouring in from around the world. With every new project, Özçivit became increasingly popular with audiences, while directors saw an opportunity to boost the ratings of their productions.

For Russian audiences, Özçivit first became widely known through the series Magnificent Century, in which he portrayed the charismatic Ottoman commander Malkoçoğlu Bali Bey.

Özçivit reached the peak of his popularity when Kara Sevda (Endless Love) premiered. For several seasons, audiences followed the fate of its protagonists as their love was put to the ultimate test.

The series received the prestigious International Emmy Award for Best Telenovela, was broadcast in 110 countries, and translated into 50 languages. It made Burak Özçivit an international household name, both in Turkey and around the world.

Throughout his meteoric career, Burak has received numerous awards for his leading performances worldwide. In 2012, he was named Man of the Year by GQ magazine, and in 2017 he was recognized as the most talked-about actor.
