Disney Concert Film: Frozen

Music from the beloved Disney film will be performed by some of Russia’s most celebrated pop and vocal artists, including Dima Bilan and Sergey Penkin.

During the New Year holidays, when everyone longs for a little magic and celebration, Disney in Russia and the CIS is preparing another special surprise for its Russian audience—the Frozen concert. The concert premiere will take place on January 7 on the Okko multimedia streaming service.

The most popular and beloved songs of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and other characters from Arendelle—including Let It Go, Into the Unknown, When We’re Together, and This Is My Love—will be performed accompanied by the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography, conducted by Sergey Skripka. The performers will include Dima Bilan, Sergey Penkin, Anna Buturlina, Natalia Bystrova, and Dmitry Ermak.

For the first time, the Russian voices behind the characters in the film will come together on one stage to perform songs from Frozen and Frozen 2. Dima Bilan voiced Prince Hans, Natalia Bystrova voiced Anna, Anna Buturlina voiced Elsa, and Sergey Penkin voiced Olaf the snowman.

Dima Bilan: “This animated film has become a true Disney classic, and I am very happy to have been part of its success in Russia. Sergey Penkin: “I am very pleased that Olaf the snowman is such a positive character. He shows what it means to be a true friend—honest and kind. The stars will perform accompanied by the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography. The orchestra played a role in creating some of the finest Russian films of the pre-war era, including works by acclaimed directors Sergei Eisenstein, Vsevolod Pudovkin, and Grigori Aleksandrov, as well as Oscar®-winning films such as War and Peace, Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears, and Burnt by the Sun. The orchestra’s Artistic Director and Principal Conductor is People’s Artist of Russia and recipient of the Russian Government Prize Sergey Skripka.

In addition to the renowned singers, the full symphony orchestra, and backing vocalists, the production will feature ballet soloists and contemporary dancers. The vibrant dance numbers were created by choreographer Evgeny Prisyazhny.

Frozen will be the third joint project between Disney in Russia and the CIS and the Okko multimedia platform. In 2021, the musical projects Disney’s Magical Music, featuring opera diva Aida Garifullina, and Disney’s Scariest Concert were presented. The projects were produced in collaboration with the concert agency Moscow Nights.
