Denis Matsuev. Anniversary Concert at Dubai Opera

On May 4, 2025, Dubai Opera hosted a special concert celebrating the 50th birthday of world-renowned pianist Denis Matsuev.

Accompanied by the Chelyabinsk Region State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Alexey Rubin, the celebrated pianist presented a programme featuring masterpieces of classical music, including works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, George Gershwin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and other great composers.

Marking an important milestone in the career of a brilliant musician who has captivated audiences around the world, the concert was a true gift for lovers of classical music. Renowned for his virtuoso technique and highly expressive playing style, Denis Matsuev created an atmosphere filled with profound emotion and an inexhaustible energy of life.

Denis Matsuev burst onto the international music scene with a triumphant victory at the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1998. That same year, he won the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Paris.

After graduating with distinction from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with a degree in piano performance, Matsuev quickly became an international star and one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation.

A recipient of the Dmitri Shostakovich Award, the State Prize of the Russian Federation in Literature and the Arts, the Order of Honour, and numerous other prestigious awards and titles, Matsuev continues to perform at the world’s finest concert halls.
