Christmas Ballet Gala with Denis Rodkin

On December 13, the traditional festive concert Christmas Ballet Gala will take place on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace, bringing together the finest ballet artists each year on the country’s main stage.

This year, audiences will have the opportunity to see performances by leading artists of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, as well as the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre. The evening promises to be a true celebration of ballet, bringing together the great classical repertoire and contemporary choreography.

The event will be held as part of the annual Christmas gala project featuring stars of world ballet and will become one of the most significant events in Moscow’s cultural life. The concert’s general partner is Gazprombank (Joint Stock Company).

Denis Rodkin, the brilliant dancer and Principal of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, presents a new festive programme in which he will share the stage with some of the most outstanding artists of our time.

The Bolshoi Theatre will be represented by the acclaimed prima ballerina Eleonora Sevenard and leading soloist Eva Sergeenkova, as well as celebrated male principals Mikhail Lobukhin, Semyon Chudin, and Dmitry Smilevski.

The concert will also feature stars of the Mariinsky Theatre, Renata Shakirova and Timur Askerov, alongside distinguished artists of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, Natalia Somova and Ivan Mikhalev.

Winners of prestigious international competitions and internationally renowned dancers will perform virtuoso choreographic pieces that never fail to captivate audiences. Special guests of the evening will be soloists of the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble.

This festive New Year mosaic will bring together the finest choreographic miniatures from the world’s ballet heritage alongside brilliant works of contemporary choreography.
