BALLET GALA EVENING “DENIS RODKIN AND FRIENDS”
About the concert
On December 12, outstanding Russian ballet dancers will gather on one stage in St. Petersburg to present the festive program “Christmas Ballet Gala: Denis Rodkin and Friends.”
“Christmas Ballet Gala” is a celebration of ballet, bringing together world-class performers and showcasing the creative interests and trends of contemporary choreography. “Christmas Ballet Gala” is the perfect New Year’s gift for all lovers of the performing arts!
The “Denis Rodkin and Friends” program showcases different directions in classical dance. Audiences will enjoy a true celebration of ballet, combining the great classical tradition with contemporary choreography performed by winners of prestigious international competitions. The finest choreographic miniatures from the world’s ballet heritage are intertwined with bold and dynamic contemporary pieces, offering a fresh perspective on this art form.
The stage will feature Bolshoi Theatre principal dancers and Honored Artists of Russia Mikhail Lobukhin and Semyon Chudin. The Bolshoi Theatre will also be represented by prima ballerina and Honored Artist of Russia Nina Kaptsova and leading soloist Anna Turuzashvili. The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre will be represented by principal dancer Innokenty Yuldashev. The Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg will be represented by its acclaimed soloists Renata Shakirova and Alexey Timofeyev.
The concert will also feature Anastasia Smirnova, first soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
And, of course, the main star of the evening — Denis Rodkin!

Denis is distinguished not only by his striking appearance and impressive height, but also by his exceptional talent and remarkable dedication to his craft. His repertoire includes the roles of Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Basilio in Don Quixote, Solor in La Bayadère, Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty, Count Albert in Giselle, Prince Kurbsky in Ivan the Terrible, Spartacus and the Nutcracker Prince. Denis Rodkin also performs the role of Don José in Carmen, Woland in The Master and Margarita, as well as many other roles.
Despite widespread recognition and international demand, Denis Rodkin continues to pursue artistic excellence, constantly refining his skills and delighting audiences with new creative achievements.
