Bach. Vivaldi. The Path to Light
About the concert
On July 1, one of Russia’s most renowned ensembles — the Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra, led by Artistic Director Vladimir Spivakov — performed at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The legendary orchestra presented its new project, Bach. Vivaldi. The Path to Light, featuring masterpieces by the two celebrated composers.
To give the audience the opportunity to immerse themselves completely in the music, the musicians performed in almost complete darkness. Another distinctive feature of the program is that it is performed without a conductor — a technique mastered only by true virtuosos, as playing together in such conditions requires an exceptional level of musicianship and ensemble coordination.
The solo parts were performed by Honored Artists of Russia Alexey Lundin (violin) and Vyacheslav Marinyuk (cello), as well as international competition laureates Emil Miroslavsky (oboe), Mikhail Shtanko (oboe) and Alexander Nepomnyashchiy (cello).
