About the concert
On March 6, a concert by Pyotr Vostokov's Big Jazz Orchestra took place in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory!
Pyotr Vostokov — one of the most talented musicians of the younger generation, rapidly soaring to the musical Olympus. Pyotr became interested in jazz at the age of 16, joining the youth big band of Vladimir Segal at the Central House of Culture of Railway Workers. He graduated from the pop-jazz department of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (ensemble class of A.V. Oseychuk, orchestra class of A.O. Kroll) in 2009. In 2006, he became a graduate of the American-Russian educational program Open World, within which he performed at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival (USA).
In 2010, together with singer Darya Antonova, he created the Big Jazz Orchestra (BJO), of which he remains the musical director to this day. Together with the BJO, he regularly participates in major Russian and international festivals, such as «Jazz in the Hermitage Garden», «Triumph of Jazz», Koktebel Jazz Party and many others, performs on the country's leading philharmonic and concert stages, is a resident of the «Esse» jazz club and the Alexey Kozlov Club, and actively tours across Russia. The debut record of the Big Jazz Orchestra was created in 2017 at the famous 1st «Tone Studio» at «Mosfilm». Over the past few years, the Orchestra has participated in the filming of several major TV and internet projects («The Big Musical», «Big Jazz», «LAB with Anton Belyaev») and the recording of music for popular films and TV series («House Arrest», «The Odessa Steamship»).
