About the concert

On November 30, the star of the international opera scene Yulia Lezhneva will perform at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

A laureate of prestigious international competitions, Lezhneva is one of the few opera singers to have achieved worldwide recognition at a remarkably young age. Her admirers never tire of praising her musical charm, virtuosic vocal technique, exceptional coloratura and captivating cantilena.

Yulia is a singer with a “voice of angelic beauty” (The New York Times), “purest intonation” (Opernwelt, Die Welt) and “faultless technique” (The Guardian). Joining one of the finest performers of Baroque repertoire on stage will be pianist Mikhail Shekhtman.

Lezhneva has received standing ovations at London’s Covent Garden, Royal Albert Hall and Barbican, New York’s Lincoln Center, Tokyo’s NHK Hall and Bunka Kaikan, Paris’s Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre and many other prestigious venues around the world.

She is a highly sought-after guest at the Salzburg Festival, Moscow’s December Evenings, the Rossini Opera Festival (ROF) and the Verbier Festival. Lezhneva has performed alongside such distinguished conductors as Marc Minkowski, Alberto Zedda and Fabio Biondi, as well as with renowned opera singers including Plácido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, Kiri Te Kanawa, Joyce DiDonato, Juan Diego Flórez and many others.

Lezhneva’s repertoire spans from Baroque to bel canto and Romanticism, encompassing works by Vivaldi and Broschi, Bach and Handel, Mozart and Rossini, Bellini and Donizetti, Massenet and Charpentier, Rimsky-Korsakov and Grechaninov. She is also a celebrated interpreter of songs by Fauré, Schubert, Schumann, Berlioz, Debussy, Lili Boulanger, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev.

Yulia Lezhneva is an exclusive recording artist of Decca Records.
