The Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin celebrated its 90th anniversary in Moscow

This season, the Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin celebrated its anniversary – the 90th anniversary of its founding. On the occasion of the momentous date, on April 2, world opera stage star and Honored Artist of Russia Nadezhda Pavlova and the Orchestra La Voce Strumentale conducted by one of the finest contemporary conductors, maestro Dmitry Sinkovsky, performed at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The project is realized by the artistic director of the Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theatre Alexei Trifonov in partnership with general producer Dmitry Dudinsky and his agency D2 Marketing Solutions.

The Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theatre has a rich history: it was opened by Maxim Gorky and Fyodor Chaliapin, it was here that director Boris Pokrovsky began his creative path and led the theatre to the heights of operatic directing. Today, the theatre is at the zenith of its glory: large-scale music festivals «Strelka» and «Contemporary Music», concerts, performances. Artistic director Alexei Trifonov and chief conductor Dmitry Sinkovsky created the unique symphony orchestra La Voce Strumentale, renewed the ballet company, and invited the best representatives of world opera to join the troupe. It is no wonder that the achievements of the theatre's ensemble have been recognized with «Golden Mask», «Onegin», and Casta Diva awards.

For the concert in Moscow, Dmitry Sinkovsky and La Voce Strumentale prepared a program with works by Leonid Desyatnikov (Opera) and Gustav Mahler (Symphony No. 4). The vocal parts were performed by world opera stage star Nadezhda Pavlova, as well as Yana Dyakova, Dilyara Idrisova, and Sergei Godin.

The organizers of the gala evening and concert in Moscow were the Foundation for the Support of Culture and Art «Strelka».
