Symphonic Show “Aznavour — 100"
About the concert
A Unique Concert Project in St. Petersburg
To mark the 100th anniversary of Charles Aznavour, the Aznavour Foundation has developed a series of projects and events dedicated to the legacy of the legendary artist and public figure. One of the central projects is “Aznavour Classic.”
The project was created at Charles Aznavour’s request: he wanted a musical medley of his own songs that could open his concerts. Following the artist’s death, his pianist Erik Berchot fulfilled his wishes and created a medley bringing together many of Aznavour’s iconic compositions.
The project aims to honor Aznavour’s vision and present his music in a classical setting, incorporating photographs and video footage of the artist, as well as virtual duets designed to create a sense of his presence on stage. The Aznavour Foundation is the creator and rights holder of the project.
“Aznavour Classic” is more than a concert — it is a living celebration of the musical legacy of a great maestro. The programme features Aznavour’s most famous and beloved compositions, performed with piano and symphony orchestra under the direction of Evgeny Oleynikov.
