NEW YEAR’S CONCERT: MOZART & TCHAIKOVSKY

On December 26, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory will host a festive concert for the whole family. The Russian National Orchestra will perform classical masterpieces familiar to audiences since childhood.

Under the direction of the young and talented conductor Fyodor Beznosikov, the musicians will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and the famous overture to The Marriage of Figaro, as well as works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The program will include “winter” pieces from Tchaikovsky’s piano cycle The Seasons, the Polonaise and Waltz from the opera Eugene Onegin, as well as works that have become synonymous with the New Year — the Waltz from The Sleeping Beauty, the magnificent Christmas Suite, and the Waltz of the Flowers from the ballet The Nutcracker.

The magical atmosphere of the evening, the rich sound of a full symphony orchestra, and the lightness and enchantment of beloved melodies will create a festive pre-New Year mood for every member of the audience!

The Russian National Orchestra (RNO) was founded in 1990 by People's Artist of Russia Mikhail Pletnev. Over more than three decades, the orchestra has gained international acclaim and widespread recognition, becoming a symbol of the Russian musical tradition and one of its most distinguished representatives. The American press called the RNO “the most persuasive ambassador of the new Russia.” In 2004, the RNO became the first Russian symphony orchestra to receive a Grammy Award. Gramophone, Europe's most authoritative classical music magazine, included the RNO among the world's top 20 orchestras.

Fyodor Beznosikov graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a violinist in 2017. He currently teaches violin at the Moscow Conservatory. Since 2021, he has been pursuing a second degree under a Presidential grant in opera and symphonic conducting, studying under People's Artist of Russia Felix Korobov. He is also a conductor at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.

Fyodor has demonstrated his versatility in numerous roles: he performs at leading concert venues as a conductor and soloist, participates in chamber ensembles, and works as a guest concertmaster with various orchestras. He takes part in major festivals in Russia and abroad and performs in concert programs of the Moscow Philharmonic and the St. Petersburg Music House. He has also participated in recording a chamber music album for the Melodiya label. For four years, he was a member of the Virtuosi Moscow Chamber Orchestra.

A laureate of numerous international competitions around the world, Fyodor has twice received the President of Russia’s Award in support of talented young artists.
