Music from Films

On March 21, the Neftche Palace of Culture in Almetyevsk hosted a special concert by the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, featuring famous love melodies that have become enduring classics of 20th-century cinema.

The audience enjoyed beloved compositions from such iconic films as The Great Life, Midshipmen, Forward!, Winter Cherry, Girls, June 31st, A Cruel Romance, The Gadfly, My Sweet and Tender Beast, Doctor Zhivago, and many others.

The poignant and inspired music of Dmitri Shostakovich, Alexander Zatsepin, Eduard Artemyev, Vladimir Shainsky, Alexandra Pakhmutova, Andrei Petrov, and other outstanding composers filled the spring evening with an atmosphere of joy, tenderness, and love.

Taking the conductor’s podium was People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Skripka, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography.

The evening’s featured soloists were acclaimed jazz singer Anna Buturlina and Vladislav Kosarev, Honored Artist of the Republic of Karelia and baritone.
