About the concert

On June 8, Pyotr Vostokov’s Big Jazz Orchestra presented a program dedicated to masterpieces of world cinema at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

The concert featured iconic melodies from such films as True Friends by Mikhail Kalatozov, I Walk Around Moscow by Georgy Daneliya, Sky Swallows by Semyon Timoshenko, Two Soldiers by Leonid Lukov and many others.

Jazz compositions from beloved Soviet films were performed both in their original versions, written especially for the movies, and in unusual arrangements, including those created by musicians of the Big Jazz Orchestra.

The audience enjoyed a true celebration of world-class jazz, infectious energy, creative freedom and an enduring passion for music.
