IGOR BUTMAN, LARISA DOLINA & IGOR BUTMAN QUINTET

On January 19, People’s Artists of Russia Igor Butman and Larisa Dolina gave a joint concert at the Neftche House of Culture. Although the renowned saxophonist and celebrated singer have performed together on numerous occasions, this was their first joint concert on the stage of the Neftche House of Culture.

The audience enjoyed a true celebration of music, rhythm, and free improvisation. The program, featuring solo compositions and captivating duets, showcased not only the virtuosity and artistry of the celebrated performers, but also the full emotional range of jazz — from gentle nostalgia and sensual lyricism to infectious optimism and vibrant joie de vivre.

Igor Butman is a renowned saxophonist, People’s Artist of Russia, and recipient of the State Prize of the Russian Federation. He is one of the leading ambassadors of Russian jazz on the international stage, serves as artistic director of several Moscow jazz clubs, and has produced 12 international festivals. In 2016, Igor Butman was elected President of the Authors’ Council of the Russian Authors’ Society. Since 2019, he has headed Russia’s first Academy of Jazz.

Larisa Dolina is one of Russia’s foremost jazz singers and widely regarded as the country’s “Queen of Jazz.” A People’s Artist of Russia, she is a recipient of the Orders of Friendship and Honor and a three-time winner of the national Russian music award Ovation.
