Gala Concert of World Opera Stars

Gala Concert of World Opera Stars

About the concert

On March 6, the FES Foundation for the Support of Classical Music presented the Gala Concert of World Opera Stars at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The festive evening, dedicated to International Women’s Day, brought together some of the brightest stars of the Russian and international opera scene: Aida Garifullina, Ildar Abdrazakov, Alexey Tatarintsev, and Vasily Ladyuk.

On the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, the artists performed arias and duets from the Russian and European operatic repertoire, accompanied by the Mikhailovsky Theatre Orchestra. The program featured works by Giuseppe Verdi, Gaetano Donizetti, Georges Bizet, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Mikhail Glinka, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

The concert was conducted by Mikhail Tatarnikov. The musician has successfully collaborated with leading European venues and, in 2020, became the only Russian conductor invited to perform at the 100th anniversary edition of the Salzburg Festival.
