MANIZHA, Alexander Panayotov, Dmitry Ermak, Alexey Vorobyov, and Masha Katz perform songs from Disney films

Halloween, the spookiest holiday of the year, is the perfect excuse to gather the whole family and be brave together! The unique musical and animated project Disney’s Scariest Concert, featuring legendary villains as its central characters, is sure to entertain the entire family. Iconic scenes from Disney films will be presented alongside the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography, conducted by Sergey Skripka, while equally sinister and fun songs will be performed by renowned Russian artists.

The concert film premiered exclusively on the Okko multimedia streaming service on October 31. The project was produced in collaboration with the concert agency Moscow Nights.

The festive concert features several major pop stars—MANIZHA, Alexander Panayotov, Dmitry Ermak, Masha Katz, and Alexey Vorobyov—performing beloved hits from Disney films including The Nightmare Before Christmas, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, and the Disney and Pixar adventure Coco. Alexey Vorobyov, together with Masha Katz and Dmitry Ermak, will perform songs associated with iconic Disney villains Ursula, Jafar, and Scar. The concert will be hosted by entertainer and singer Timur Rodriguez, rapper ST, and singer MIA BOYKA.

Alexey Vorobyov:
“‘Scary’ animated characters have a special charisma and energy, while the songs performed at the concert are not meant to frighten anyone. So watch the concert—it’s going to be frighteningly fun!”

Alexander Panayotov:
“The songs of my characters are a true palette of emotions and fascinating personalities. This concert is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to get together and have a great time.”

The stars will perform accompanied by the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography, led by People’s Artist of Russia and recipient of the Russian Government Prize Sergey Skripka. The orchestra will also perform instantly recognizable musical themes from Disney favorites such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, and the 1929 animated short The Skeleton Dance, on which Walt Disney worked.

The orchestra also participated in the creation of some of the finest Russian films, including works by acclaimed directors Sergei Eisenstein, Vsevolod Pudovkin, and Grigori Aleksandrov, as well as Oscar®-winning films such as War and Peace, Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears, and Burnt by the Sun.

The concert will also feature the A.A. Yurlov State Academic Choral Capella of Russia and the DEBUT Boys’ and Youth Choir of the supplementary education department of Moscow School No. 883. The A.A. Yurlov Choral Capella is a world-renowned Russian choir and one of the country’s oldest artistic ensembles.

Disney’s Scariest Concert is not the first collaboration between the renowned film studio and leading Russian musicians. In January 2021, the Okko multimedia service premiered Disney’s Magical Music, featuring opera diva Aida Garifullina and leading Russian musical-theater stars. The project became one of the most popular online concerts of 2021, attracting several million viewers from around the world.
