On May 4, 2023, world-renowned pianist Denis Matsuev performed a solo concert at Dubai Opera. The celebrated artist presented a special program titled “Encore,” featuring masterpieces of classical music spanning from Mozart and Beethoven to Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. One of the most outstanding pianists of our time performed great works from different eras, once again demonstrating his unique talent. Denis Matsuev burst onto the international music scene after his triumphant victory at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1998. That same year, he won the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Paris. After graduating with honors from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with a degree in piano performance, Matsuev immediately established himself as an international star and one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation. A recipient of the Dmitri Shostakovich Prize, the State Prize of the Russian Federation in Literature and the Arts, the Order of Honor, and numerous other prestigious awards and titles, Matsuev now performs at the world’s leading concert halls.
