Closing Gala Concert

On May 30, the final gala concert of the first CelloQwest Television Competition and Festival, dedicated to Alexander Buzlov, took place in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Members of the jury and competition laureates performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, conducted by Ivan Nikiforchin.

The concert also featured the winners of the senior category, who performed one of the works on Alexander Buzlov’s cello, crafted by Gabriel Jebran Yakub.

The highlight of the evening was the premiere of the film Alexander Buzlov. Il canto sospeso, created for the competition and festival by Moscow Conservatory Television. The film featured such distinguished musicians as Valery Gergiev, Denis Matsuev, Yuri Bashmet and others.
