Christmas Ballet Gala

On December 15, the traditional festive concert Christmas Ballet Gala took place on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace, this year celebrating its tenth anniversary. The Christmas gala brought together on one stage the finest Russian dancers of our time, renowned artists of Russia's outstanding musical theatres.

The performance featured world ballet stars, including renowned artists of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia: one of the most beautiful pairs in world ballet, prima ballerina Kristina Kretova and premier Igor Tsvirko, as well as the magnificent prima ballerina Alena Kovaleva and premier Artemy Belyakov. St. Petersburg was represented at the ballet gala by the beautiful prima ballerina Oksana Skorik and the celebrated premier, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Timur Askerov. Outstanding artists of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre also joined the festive gala: prima ballerinas Elena Solomyanko and Honored Artist of Russia Oksana Kardash, as well as premiers Innokenty Yuldashev and Ivan Mikhalev. In addition, students of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (MSAC) and pupils of the children's musical theatre «Domisolka» participated in the concert.

The New Year's mosaic was composed of famous choreographic miniatures from the world treasury of ballet, including «The Nutcracker» in the choreography of Vasily Vainonen, «Le Corsaire», «Swan Lake» and «The Sleeping Beauty», «Scheherazade» and «Don Quixote», as well as bright contemporary numbers.
