About the concert
On December 18, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory will host a concert by world-renowned opera singer Aida Garifullina, accompanied by the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Ivan Nikiforchin. Special guest of the evening is baritone Semyon Antakov. The concert will be conducted by Alexander Solovyov.
Every performance by Aida Garifullina is a major cultural event eagerly awaited by audiences around the world. Her voice captivates from the very first note. A Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, Garifullina has received standing ovations at the world’s leading concert halls. She is a regular guest artist at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London, La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and many other prestigious venues.
Aida Garifullina has performed under the musical direction of some of the world’s most distinguished conductors, including Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, Kent Nagano, Plácido Domingo, Gustavo Dudamel, Antonio Pappano and Daniel Barenboim.
The program will feature vocal and symphonic works, as well as duets from operas by Russian and international composers.
