A Tribute to Luciano Pavarotti

On March 5, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory hosted a special concert dedicated to one of the most celebrated opera singers of all time, Luciano Pavarotti.

Young and talented tenor David Sanikidze, known to many audiences through his appearances on television projects, performed famous arias and songs from the repertoire of the legendary Pavarotti. The concert was accompanied by the State Kremlin Orchestra, conducted by Konstantin Chudovsky.

“Tenorissimo,” the King of the High C, Italian in every sense — Luciano Pavarotti was known by many names, all acknowledging his extraordinary talent and unmistakable individuality.

With his incredible, “sunlit” timbre and virtuoso vocal technique, he conquered the world’s greatest stages and became the most sought-after opera singer of his era. He revolutionized the world of classical music, pushing the boundaries of the genre further than ever before, while his voice became one of the most instantly recognizable in the history of recorded music.

Truly passionate about music, Pavarotti was never afraid to experiment. His legendary collaborations with Liza Minnelli, Bryan Adams, Mariah Carey, and the bands Queen and U2 are just a few examples of his remarkable versatility.

Lightness, generosity, boundless musicality, and irresistible charisma characterized everything he performed. Whether it was Calaf’s celebrated aria Nessun dorma from Puccini’s Turandot, which became synonymous with Pavarotti himself, or beloved Neapolitan songs such as ’O sole mio, he brought a unique brilliance to every performance.

Pavarotti had the rare ability to transform classical arias into worldwide hits, drawing hundreds of thousands of listeners to his concerts.
