The Guangzhou Acrobatic Troupe’s Swan Lake Performed in Moscow

The Russian tour of the Guangzhou Acrobatic Troupe opened with performances of Swan Lake (SWAN), held on September 20 and 21 at Live Arena in Moscow.

The tour will continue with performances at the new stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, where the troupe is scheduled to perform from September 26 to 28. The performances will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China and will take place during the Year of Culture of the two countries, proclaimed by Vladimir Putin.

Russian audiences saw an updated version of the production. Combining cinematic effects with challenging acrobatic stunts, the performance brings together drama, acrobatics, dance and shoulder ballet. The two-act production features sixty performers and is accompanied by excerpts from the music of composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in contemporary arrangements.
