Aida Garifullina Gave Her Only Concert in Moscow

“Refinement, style, restraint and emotional discipline” — this is how critics describe Aida Garifullina’s artistry. The international star and soloist of the Vienna State Opera gave her only Moscow concert.

The rehearsal began with the Tatar folk song Allyuki, which was included in Aida Garifullina’s album and also featured in the programme of all Russian concerts on this tour. The singer, whom Plácido Domingo called “one of the most extraordinary opera divas of the present and the future,” rarely performs in Russia. She first presented her solo programme in Moscow a year and a half earlier, also in a single concert. This time, once again, there was only one evening.
